Omdat de Costa Blanca een populaire bestemming is, is er veel informatie over de regio te vinden. Het is onmogelijk om alles op onze website te vermelden. Natuurlijk posten we onze favorieten, lokale hotspots en de beste tips en tricks.

De Costa Blanca is grofweg in te delen in twee delen: Costa Blanca zuid en Costa Blanca noord. Onze verblijven zijn in het noorden van de Costa Blanca, die zich uitstrekt van Alicante tot aan Dénia. De Costa Blanca noord bestaat uit verschillende kleinere regio's, zoals de Marina Alta.

De Marina Alta wordt begrensd door Calp in het zuiden en Dénia in het noorden. Het gaat landinwaarts tot aan Vall de Gallinera en Vall de Pop. Een kleine regio dus maar genoeg te doen. Je vindt er ongerepte stranden, ongerepte natuur en typisch Spaanse dorpjes. De regio staat ook bekend om zijn gastronomie, handwerk en lokale tradities.

Swimmingpool in Llíber

Llíber got it’s own swimmingpool. Beside the large 25 meter pool a kids pond is present. It is open in summer every day from 11:00 to 14:00 and 16:00 to 20:00. Entrance is € 1; a monthly pass of € 20 can be obtained from the Town Hall. The swimmingpool is open from May until September.

You’ll find the pool next to the school at Benissa’s side entrance of Llíber. Beside the swimmingpool in Llíber, you’ll find public pools in Alcalalí, Benigembla, Benissa, Murla, Parcent and Jalon/ Xaló. More info can be found on the website of Vall de Pop.

When you stay in Ca la Vall, you’ll find plenty options for an active lifestyle. Beside the new swimmingpool there’s a petanque track in the village. In Jalon you can play padel or tennis in the sportshall, yoga & pilates at several studio’s or pump the weight in the local fitnesscentre.

For the outdoor lovers, check-out the climbing wall Peña Roja at Llíber. Or take your bike or walkingshoes and explore the region. Even horse riding is available.

On the other hand a less enervating activity is present in the village as well. At the public parking space on the Benissa side is a petanque track. So get the balls rolling!

De Marina Alta is de perfecte bestemming voor fietsers. Of je nu van MTB of wielrennen houdt. Huur je fiets aan de Costa Blanca en ontdek de mooiste plekjes van de regio.

Vall de Pop (Jalon-vallei) is de officieuze MTB-hoofdstad van de regio met een uitgebreid netwerk van prachtige routes. De routes variëren van gemakkelijke tot steile, rotsachtige paden. Hieruit kun je een weg vinden via het MTB-netwerk kaart of het officiële MTB-centrum (Centro BTT Vall del Pop) te bezoeken in Parcent.

MTB

Je kunt een fiets huren bij het MTB-centrum of zelf een rondleiding boeken bij Snakebite MTB Adventures. Hij verhuurt ook fietsen, maar we kunnen zijn tours vooral aanbevelen. Mike laat de andere kant van de Marina Alta zien, ver weg van drukke stranden en bruisende steden. “Fietsen over grindwegen, door wijngaarden, pittoreske dorpjes en langs kleine baaien aan zee, de mountainbike is ideaal om je te omringen met schoonheid en rust”, zegt Mike. Road cycling

Mocht je toch de voorkeur geven aan de racefiets, dan zijn er volop mogelijkheden voor fietsverhuur en/of rondleidingen in de regio. Alta Bike Rental is gevestigd in Vall de Pop en verhuurt racefietsen, elektrische racefietsen en elektrische fietsen. Fietsen worden van en naar huis gebracht. Zorg ervoor dat je op tijd boekt, want in het fietsseizoen loop je het misschien mis. Reserveer uw fiets online op de website.

Rastro market Jalón/ Xaló

HOTSPOTS, LOCAL LIFE

Every Saturday a rastro market is held in Jalón (Xaló in the local dialect Valenciano) at the Costa Blanca. Rastro means a type of flea market. From 09:00 until 14:00 antique, brocante and bric-a-brac is sold along the riverside around the touristic office. Beside that you’ll find the common tourist souvenirs, food stands and professional salesmen.

This rastro in the Jalón Valley is one of the most famous and best visited in the region. That’s because the quality of the offered pieces is quite high for a flea market. Another reason is the presence of a farmer’s market (mercat de la tierra) with local craftwork, fresh food and local products. The farmer’s market can be found at the roundabout at the Masymas supermarket.

What more to see and do in Jalón

Around the rastro market Jalón there are some nice bars, bodegas and small shops to continue the experience. Opposite the rastro is Bodegas Xaló, the biggest one of the village. Beside wine, you’ll find typical local products like olive oil, almonds and sausages (embutidos).

In de richting van Masymas passeer je de beroemde bar Casa Aleluya, bekend om de charmante eigenaar, livemuziek en het heerlijke eten. Ernaast ligt Casa Claudia met typisch Spaanse tapas. Verderop langs de weg is Bodega Riko met lokale wijn en eten zoals Bodegas Xaló. Iets verder is de honingwinkel L'Abella, waar lokale honing en honingproducten worden verkocht.

The rastro market and farmer’s market in Jalón are held every Saturday from 09:00 until 14:00. In summertime the farmer’s market is in the evening hours because of the temperatures.
